Il Crivo calabrese per fare la pasta fresca è un cestino tipico intrecciato a mano e serve per fare i cavatelli, un tipo di pasta fresca tipico della Calabria molto simili a degli gnocchi.
Il Crivo permette di ottenere la texture perfetta e un aspetto casereccio della pasta fresca, i cavatelli vengono rollati attraverso gli stecchini sulla base, con 2 dita, una tecnica tramandata da generazioni per fare la pasta fresca. Viene utilizzato anche per fare i famosi dolci natalizi, ovvero i "turdilli" o "cannaritoli" come vengono chiamati nel cosentino, la struttura permette anche di utilizzarlo come setaccio per infarinare il pesce per esempio.
